Swift Bay - Sundown colours

When people say they want to see the sunset, they really do just watch the sun go down. And then they leave. I had that experience at Ubirr in Kakadu recently when I was among a few hundred people watching the sunset and immediately as the sun went down, they all left. (Sort of understandable since the parks service locks up the gates pretty soon after darkness.)

This is Swift Bay in the Kimberley. We were out there with Coral Expeditions for a lovely BBQ on the beach and to watch the sun set. And soon after the sunset, they were organizing everyone to go. But the sky was just getting spectacular! I managed to get this shot with enough time to spare not to seem rude and hold up the group. But a few minutes later, the sky turned an incredible red! Never leave a sunset early.

One of the interesting parts of the beach at Swift Bay are the shells. There are huge deposits of small shells all over the beach. I managed to catch a few in the bottom here, but could have framed it a bit better - but I also had to be careful not to get too close to the edge with the crocodiles in this water. I have a few other photos to show the beach largely built on shells which was quite impressive.
