Ribbon Bridge
Here is the newest member of Edmonton's family of bridges crossing the North Saskatchewan. The bridge opened just two days ago, on October 21, 2016. I was there opening night and it was rather busy. The mild fall weather this week had people out for walks tonight as well. (See a little blur of people in the middle of the span.) The Terwillegar Footbridge is a Ribbon Bridge, containing steel cables within its decking. It is the longest of its kind in Canada - in the neighborhood of 250 metres. I'm not sure if the lighting colours will change from time to time - it's been a blue-purple both times that I have seen it.
