10 of 115 Wooden Grain Elevators. This is another resue elevator - moved from Hobbema (now Maskwacis) in 2002 to the Central Alberta Railway Museum near Wetaskiwin. This elevator was one of three at Hobbema - the other two were demolished on site. According to the literature at the museum this is the second oldest standing elevator in the province and was built in 1906 (I'm not sure the oldest.) The elevator is still being restored - it looks like a new platform has been built. The plan is to restore to operating condition and have an annual demonstration of grain loading. The museum has a working passenger train (with an old CP Dayliner car), several rail cars in various states of repair, a small HO scale railroad and an extensive collection of HO scale steam locomotives.
