Meeting Creek
In the middle of the Alberta Prairies is the ghost town of Meeting Creek. It's probably not quite a ghost town - but not many residents. There was a junkyard full of hundreds of smashed cars and an RV park full of vacationers on the Canada Day long weekend. The town is at the bottom of a hill just off Alberta 56. It its prime, it was a stop on the Vegreville-Drumheller rail line. The white elevators was built in 1918 by the Alberta Pacific Grain Company and holds 40, 000 bushels of grain. The elevator was operated until 1989 when it was donated to the Canadian Northern Society.
