Alberta Hotel on Jasper Avenue

Downtown Edmonton is looking better than it has for years. This is the newly (2013-ish) reconstructed Alberta Hotel on Jasper Avenue near 97 Street. The original was built in 1903 and torn down in 1984 for the construction of Edmonton's Federal Government building, Canada Place, in 1984. Canada Place is the pink monstrosity behind the Alberta Hotel. Many parts, including the turret were retained from the original and stored.
