There is a town called Economy in Nova Scotia. Odd name. Really odd name. So I had to look up how it was named. One reference tells me it is a derivation of an Acadian word, derived from a Mi'kmaq word - "kenomee" meaning 'a place of land jutting into the sea'. So the name really wasn't anything to do with the English word "Economy". A few kilometres inland of the town on the bay, there is a rather impressive waterfall. A short walk down from the parking lot on crunchy, half-frozen earth you can view the Economy Falls. Cold in December - it looks like a nice place to cool down in August. The cloudy weather in Nova Scotia this Christmas has been good for waterfall photography!
