Thomas D'Arcy McGee

I think the best feature of the Canadian Parliament building is its rear and the impressive Library of Parliament. It is the oldest part of the current Parliament building, surviving a fire that destroyed the Centre Block in 1916. When I was there in November 2013, there were some temporary buildings on the east side of the library that spoiled any opportunity to get a photo from that side. The west side had some minor construction pieces, but was workable. The statue of Thomas D'Arcy McGee watches over the library.
