This water is in for a surprise in a few hundred metres. It's about to fall over the Emperor - and then several hundred more metres down through the Valley of A Thousand Falls.
The Berg Lake Trail follows the Robson River from just north of the Yellowhead Highway to Berg Lake and the Robson Glacier. In some areas, like above the falls, the river is roaring. In others, it is more modest or broken up along alluvial plains.
This is a shot just as night is falling at the Emperor Falls campsite. The campsite is one of the smaller facilities on the Berg Lake Trail and not very conviniently located. There are no nearby day hikes nor is it located in a place along the trail that would divide the hike to Berg Lake evenly. It is, however, a very scenic place with views of the River, Mist Glacier and a short walk to the Emperor Falls viewing point.
