How lucky that there isn't just one beehive but two! This is from the top of the Little Beehive. On the right is the larger Big Beehive. And an assortment of some of Banff's most famous lakes: From left to right - Louise, Mirror and Agenes. The Little Beehive hike is relatively short and easy. 8 kilometers roundtrip from the parking lot and a 500 metre elevation gain. Like all the Rocky Mountain trails, much of the elevation gain is in the last kilometre of the trail. It threatened to rain for most of the morning, but never did. You can see showers in the distance in the direction of the Banff townsite (left of Mount Fairview). If you zoom into Lake Louise near the chateau you can see many people taking the famous red canoes out on the cold lake.
