The View From Whitehorn Camp
This is the view from Whitehorn camp on the Berg Lake Trail. I figured the first day of 11 kilometres backpacking with little elevation gain would be no big deal. Not sure if it was being tired from driving five hours from Edmonton, not having carried so much for so long in a while (The Birkie Baby is only 11 pounds), or more ups and downs on what I expected would be a slow incline. Most people (as I understand it) tend to stop in Whitehorn for the first night. If you start earlier, Emperor Falls campground is a safe target and somewhat more quiet. But I liked the idea of saving the hardest part for the start of day two. Exhausted, I shared a picnic table with some friendlies from Oregon and made dinner. Afterwards I took some shots of the river nearby and these tall waterfalls. Nice scenary. This one could have done with an ND filter to soften the river, it still works for me.
