Skiing on the Pipeline Trail
Pipeline is a relatively flat trail - a few small ups and downs just for fun - running alongside the Miette River. If you enjoy practicing your double poling and one-step double poling, this is the place to go! The trailhead is 4 km west of the Icefield Parkway traffic lights on the Yellowhead. It's one of a number of nice nordic ski trails in Japer National Park - Parks Canada had groomed it a week earlier and despite the wind and warm weather the tracks remained intact. It looks like a lot of animal activity goes on around here - footprints of large animals marking up the trail.
