The first four or five kilometers on the Berg Lake Trail take you through a wet forest of ferns and giant cedars. The trail is a very flat former road and attracts day hikers and "walkers". A few look to get out of their car just long enough to take photos on the first bridge over the Robson River near the parking lot. Me, carrying my 50+ pound backpack, I feel out of place on the trail until past Kinney Lake when the day walkers turn back.
This photo, I turned a little funky for Slider Sunday. The giant trees look great along the trail but never really turn out so well in photos - it's tough to capture the wet cedar smell that makes the scene so impressive!
