Horn Creek
The sun disappears quickly in the Grand Canyon. Even with the moon brightening the sky behind me, you still see a lot of stars. This is Horn Creek, one of the drainages leading to the Colorado River. Horn Creek is the site of a former Uranium mine. (Mining for all sorts of things was thought to be a good thing before Grand Canyon became a National Park and even early on as a National Park.) There has been work to clean up the mining area but the water from Horn Creek is not recommended for drinking. Oddly enough I didn't see any signage at the camp telling people not to drink the water.
