This is a Pitcher Plant, the provincial flower for Newfoundland and Labrador. The leaves below the flower close up, collecting water and trapping insects inside. The plant then apparently proceeds to "eat" the insect ... not sure at what pace or exactly what "eat" means but we have a carnivorous plant on our hands here. This was taken along the boardwalk shown in my earlier photo at Gros Morne National Park.
