SS Maheno

How could I pick black and white for a photo with so much vibrant colour? She just looks nice in this soft, minimalist processing. The sand is wiped clear by the ocean. The thin layer of water reflects the remains of the Maheno beautifully. The SS Maheno is one of Fraser Island's most popular attractions. It is widely photographed and every angle I captured I seem to have found somewhere on the web taken by someone else. Not many (I can't recall any right now) black and white images. You can visit the abandoned wreck sitting between the ocean and a freeway built on sand. Watch for 4WD as you cross the beach! There's a brief story behind the ship that you can read on the web - basically while she was being hauled away for scrap/parts, she was caught up in a cyclone and ended up beached on Fraser Island. The wreck breaks up the miles and miles of clear sandy beach on Fraser Island and Great Sandy National Park in Queensland.
