They advertise that the sunsets at Undara Volcanic National Park in Northern Queensland are spectacular. Well … yeah! I walked along a trail not far from the campsite and climbed up some boulders …. sill a bit of an obstructed view but the tree in front of the sunset is a nice effect. The sun's rays are really blasting out in this shot. On the way up, the trail, I was greeted by half the Undara marsupial family … grey kangaroos with Joeys, Pretty Faced Wallabies and the mighty Wallaroo! Undara Volcanic National Park is relatively new and was established in the early 1990s as part of the Australian government's policy to double the size of their national park system. The park protects giant lava tubes formed after the Undara erruption 190, 000 years ago. Animal and lava tube photos will be coming!
