Tsuquadra Point

Day 3 of the West Coast Trail was largely cloud covered in the morning. The day started out on the beach leaving Tsusiat Falls but we had to enter the inland trail network just before Tsuquadra Point. This photo is somewhere between the Tsuquanah Patrol Cabin on Ditidaht Tribe Reserve Lands and Nitinat Narrows.

Day Three was the longest day for us as we arrived at Crib's Creek with enough time to set up tents, re-fill water and make dinner before darkness fell. I didn't take any photos at the Crib's Creek camp site - we arrived late and the night sky, while initially clear and bright with a near full moon, quickly clouded over. It began to rain at 2:00 in the morning and rain continued into the next afternoon. Fortunately that was the only rain we had during our week on the West Coast Trail. Cribs Creek had few tree covered sites - most were on the beach and I quickly realized the mix of fine sand and rain was not a good one. I'm sure I picked up and extra pound of water and sand to carry with me the next day!

I'm not too disappointed that there were no photos at Cribs Creek - it was probably the least interesting campsite we stayed at. The site beach was hidden behind a massive rock and there was no view of the ocean.
