West Coast Trail - Impassable Headlands

The first part of the northern end of the West Coast Trail is relatively easy - the trail is flat and smooth through a cedar and fern forest. The first 12 kilometers are all inland as the beach is full of "impassable headlands". There are a few viewing points of the ocean and you can understand why it is called the "Graveyard of the Pacific". Get too close and your ship will be beaten by the waves onto giant rocks!
